WhatsApp planning to increase the file size transfer limit to 2GB
WhatsApp, a popular messaging platform, is currently testing to share larger than 2GB of file transfers between users, according to WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp file-sharing capabilities have grown in popularity and since 2017 the program allows users to share media files in a conversation, including photos, videos, documents, links, and more.
However, the 100 MB file size limit has not changed in recent years, which has caused inconvenience to those who plan to share files beyond the current limit.
With a limit raised to 2GB, the platform must be highly compatible with video clips and other large media files, all of which will be securely transferred via WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. There have been recent reports claiming that WhatsApp will soon launch a 'poll feature' in group chats and the ability to respond to individual messages.
